Fakebook!

Fakebook is a sort of silly tool that allows students to create a facebook page for someone that is not themselves – and without actually being on facebook.

Here is an example of what Lincoln’s Facebook page may have looked like: Abraham Lincoln.

Project Based Learning (PBL): Fakebook could be a simple, fun deliverable for biography type projects – students need to know who the subject would have been friends with, what he/she would post about, important events/timelines. Students can upload pictures and videos. Students could try and mimic the language of the time or use more modern text and internet lingo to add some humor: Charles Darwin: “WTF is with these finches!”
