Visual.ly is another online tool for creating really professional looking infographics and data visualizations.  Similar to infogr.am, easel.ly, and others, Visual.ly provides a lot of templates for getting started, but allows customization as well.

Project Based Learning:  As has been discussed here before, Infographics are not only a wonderful deliverable (like a posterboard on steroids), but they are increasingly used professionally.  Data visualization as a field has expanded exponentially (and I’m sure there’s a graphic to prove it), and this could be a nice chance for the students to practice and develop some of those skills.  The graphic included above is a nice example of how the tool can be used to explain non-data driven content as well.
